Recycling Rewards Program

An exciting, new recycling rewards program, “MyRepublicRewards”, will be offered through Raritan Valley Disposal beginning in 2012.  This incentive based program will reward residents for recycling participation and help reduce the volume of trash in our landfills.  In addition, this new program will be implemented at no additional cost to the Township!

Starting in mid January each Township household will receive a new 95 gallon cart to be used for recycling purposes only.  The new carts eliminate the need to sort materials and allow all recyclables to be comingled into one container.  Residents are encouraged to begin using the new recycling carts as soon as they are received.  The current recycling schedule will remain in effect.

After recycling is picked up, the weights are recorded daily by route and converted into points which are credited (distributed) to the participating recycling households.  Participating residents will earn five (5) points for every two (2) pounds of recycled waste.  Points can then be redeemed at hundreds of local and national businesses through rewards coupons.

Detailed information will be mailed to each household and will include instructions for registering an individual rewards account with the new program.
