Readington’s Memorial Day Parade has bigger plans for 2008

The Readington Township Committee along with the Department of Recreation is planning the third annual Memorial Day Parade to be held on Monday, May 26. Due to the overwhelming response of participants in last year’s parade, the 2008 parade will begin from the Whitehouse Mall parking lot.

The parade will commence at 10am and continue along Main Street to the Municipal building immediately followed by a flag raising ceremony commemorating fallen service personnel. Immediately following the ceremony, Community Day sponsored by the Department of Recreation will be held at Pickell Park with more games and activities than last year. There will be hotdogs and soda for everyone. All township residents, clubs and organizations are encouraged to participate in the parade. Volunteers are needed to help out.
