You may email a request to plead Not Guilty to any parking or moving ticket EXCLUDING a ticket issued for DWI ( violation 39:4-50); there are rights the judge is required to read to anyone charged with a DWI violation prior to plea and conviction, therefore, it is mandatory that you appear in court on this type of charge.
If you wish to enter a plea of not guilty to your traffic summons, you must provide the following information in your email request:
1. Your full name and correct mailing address.
2. Your ticket or summons number (s), including the prefix.
3. A daytime telephone number, in the event we need to contact you.
Once your plea is received you will be notified of your new court date in 2 ways;
Via email, within 24 hours of the next business day and Via regular mail to the mailing address provided in your request
Please contact our office should you not receive either notification of a new court date within one week to sending your request.
You may also contact us should you have any questions regarding your ticket or how to make payment if you wish to plead guilty to a non mandatory court required ticket.
ADJOURNMENT POLICY
If your case is under 60 days old, you are entitled to request one adjournment for any reasonable reason
If your case is over 60 days old and you have an emergent adjournment request, documents must be provided to the judge, (ex… Doctors note, business itinerary, etc.)
Scheduling conflict, copies of other court notices must be provided to this court( DWI cases take precedence over all other matters)
If you wish to retain or consult with an attorney
Every request will be handled on a case by case basis/situation
Any requests on cases over 60 days old require the authorization to adjourn by the Court Administrator or Judge
