Recreational Trails and Open Space
The Readington Recreation Department announces publication of the Round Mountain Trail System Trail Map Brochure. View and Download the brochure. (High resolution version 6MB). Printed versions are also available at the Township Municipal Building and at the Bouman-Stickney Farmstead Museum. This system of marked trails and parking access points on township open space was a cooperative venture with the Readington Township Open Space Advisory Board, made possible by funding from a National Recreational Trails grant and the work of volunteers. Constructed in a series of loops and connecting with Hunterdon County trails, it spans the fields and woods from Dreahook Road and the village of Stanton to Deer Path Park and the banks of the South Branch Raritan River near Dart's Mill. Please note that some portions of the trail system are subject to hunting in season, particularly up on Round Mountain and along the river. During hunting season wear blaze orange or restrict your walking in these portions to Sundays when hunting is not permitted.
